Gov. Mark Sanford of SC becomes the latest Republican dedicated to inequality to be "caught with his pants down", though be it in Argentina. His voting record and opinions towards the LGBT community can be found at http://www.ontheissues.org/2008/Mark_Sanford_Civil_Rights.htm
Though I feel for his wife and children having to endure the public humiliation of his infidelity, I can't help but bask in the glow of his demise as a vocal, religious reich oponnent of LGBT rights and the utter collapse of his political career.
Sanford joins the long list of Republican defenders of traditional marriage (Gingrich, Viter, the foot tapper from Idaho, etc, etc.) that have positioned themselves has poster children for hypocrisy. Who's next???
Ahhh...the sanctity of marriage. Wow, could the religious reich be plagued with the same issues that the rest of the world faces? Infidelity, disregard for vows, etc.. Are they actually human? Oh that's right, the LGBT community does not have to concern itself with breaking marriage vows; vows that were voluntarily made before god.
So the Biblemust define divorce as a separation between a married man and a woman. Anyone know what god's take on adultery or divorce is? And what the punishment is for such disregard for the word of god?
Hmmmmm..........
Good riddens governor! May your colleagues continue to be exposed, outed and rot in hell for your hypocrisy. Ok, maybe that was harsh. I don't wish you eternal hellfire and brimstone but it is nice watching you squirm a bit as you get a little taste of your own medicine. Oh...and you should certainly step down from your position and disappear; your name to be forgotten, erased from history as what is right and just prevails.
