I'm a Poet and a Doctor of Chiropractic & an Applied Kinesiologist; it's a good mix, both involve the art of listening and observation.
First I'll write about my job which I love:.
I earn my living by being a Doctor of Chiropractic & an Applied Kinesiologist; I have been helping people feel better naturally for 20 years.
Unlike modern healthcare practices that are assembly line practices, I see each patient for an hour. You are treated with the care and attention you deserve.
I integrate a comprehensive form of healthcare, Applied Kinesiology which is a system that evaluates structural, chemical and mental aspects using manual muscle testing with other standard methods of diagnosis and includes spinal, extremity, skull and jawbone adjustments, acupressure, muscle balancing, stress reduction, organ lymphatic / vascular reflexes and nutrition
My patients achieve a higher level of health, well-being and function. I teach patients how to improve their lives.
I am often asked if I treat conditions such as asthma, ulcerative colitis or migraines. My answer is: No, I treat the person, not the disease. And yes, I have helped people with conditions like asthma, ulcerative colitis or migraines get healthier and symptom free.
Many of my patients:
Suffer from a condition where doctors are unable to discover the real cause.
Want to stop drugs or pain-killers that just mask the symptoms and do not fix the problem and just makes them more sicker in the long run
Want to reduce stress and feel more energetic

Since its release in Fall 2006 my first poetry book Not Just A Personal Ad has won accolades; in a Lambda Book Report column, poet and reviewer Rigoberto Gonzalez wrote "Poems of intense sensibility and gorgeous imagery are a rarity these days; but this book of verse by a distinctly working class, distinctly lesbian, and distinctly Italian American voice is a must for all readers of good poetry.

I have a chapbook entitled Head For the Van Wyck that contains a poem that my current publisher refused to print for fear of being sued by Camille Paglia.
My poems have been chosen as "Editor's Choice" in the Paterson Literary Review for five times since 2003.
I'm the vice president of the Italian American Writers Association. I was a judge in the 2005 Publishing Triangle's Audre Lorde Award for Lesbian Poetry & Thomas Gunn Award for Gay Poetry
I have been hosting the Women's/Trans' Poetry Jam at Bluestockings Bookstore on 172 Allen St. in NYC since its opening in 1999.
The Jam is on the last Tuesday of the month from 7pm to 9pm and has an open mike. if you are in town, come sign up at a few minutes before 7pm and read; it's a 8 minute reading limit.

The Correct Use of Muscle Testing in Nutritional Evaluation in Applied Kinesiology
When I’m meeting new people at a social or a networking event, I introduce myself as a Doctor of Chiropractic and an Applied Kinesiologist. Sometimes they have no idea what AK is and I fill them in. But most of the time, they will say something like “I had someone touch a spot on me and then pull down on my outstretched arm. It was weak. Then I held a bottle of pills and was told I needed them. Is that Applied Kinesiology?”
